MORE FLEXIBLE, MORE BREATHABLE.
The Nike Free TR 5 Breathe Women’s Training Shoe features a breathable upper and areas of open mesh to help keep your feet cool during hot-weather workouts, while also providing exceptional flexibility and support.
VentilatedThe lightweight mesh upper is super-breathable and features wider perforations at the heel and tongue, ideal for when you’re training in the heat.
Natural Flexibility Hexagonal flex grooves are hot-knife cut into the midsole to create six different flex points that allow your foot to move more naturally in every direction.
Supportive Fit Shaped foam wraps your heel to help lock it in place and anchor your foot to the footbed, and Flywire technology helps stabilize your foot during agility training and cardio classes.
More Benefits
  • Rubber pods on the side of your foot provide enhanced traction and stability for activities like side planks
  • Rubber on the heel and toe for durability in high-wear areas
  • Offset: 8mm

  • Nike Free OriginsAfter learning that Stanford athletes had been training barefoot on the university’s golf course, three of Nike’s most innovative and creative employees set out to develop a shoe that felt natural and weightless, similar to bare feet. In 2002, they examined a group of men and women with pressure measuring insoles taped to their feet, using high-speed cameras to capture images of each foot in motion. The team spent eight years studying the biomechanics of shoeless running. The results yielded a profound understanding of the foot’s natural landing angle, pressure and toe position, allowing Nike designers to build an unconventional and flexible running shoe from the inside out.
